What is HTTP? (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)



The HTTP full form Hypertext Transfer Protocol is used primarily to access data on the World Wide Web. HTTP is a server and client communication protocol, which is primarily a set of rules for creating and transferring webpage data (text, images, video and multimedia files and others) on the worldwide web. This protocol is used to create communication between web servers and web users. HTTP is an application layer protocol that works on top of the TCP / IP suite of protocols.

What is HTTPS? (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure)



HTTPS is a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. This is a secure version of HTTP protocol. HTTPS means a secure layer between the client and the server. HTTPS encrypts our data via the Transport Security Layer (TLS). HTTPS security indicates, most websites are safe with HTTPS.

Differences between GET and Post method

Get method

Due to sending the data to the message body, it adds large amounts of data. This is a secure connection because the variables and their values do not appear in the URL.

Differences between HTTP and HTTPS

1. If we talk about security HTTP then there are security problems while HTTPS is secure.

2. Hypertext Transfer Protocol works on the application layer. On the contrary, the secure function on the Hypertext Transfer Protocol transport layer.

3. HTTPS requires certification to verify the identity of the websites. In contrast, there is no need for a certificate in HTTP.

4. No encryption is used in HTTP. HTTPS, on the other hand, uses both encryption and decryption.

5. For communication purposes, port number 80 is used in HTTP, while HTTPS uses port number 443.

6. HTTP suffers from in-person and hidden attacks, but HTTPS has been designed to oppose such attacks.
